IN A NUTSHELL
get started ::: titanium level

Dear Friend:

A grassroots movement depends on grassroots communication, from person to person, for the movement to gather momentum. This why inviting all our friends and neighbors and everyone you encounter is one of the most important things you can do to get the word out about your become the change effort.

Another very important thing you can do to give your grassroots movement a big boost is to engage the attention of those who can specifically get the word out to large numbers of people in your community.

Such people are members of the media, civic leaders, business leaders as well as organizations with a large membership base, such as Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Church groups, Professional Associations, etc. For more details, click here.

If even one of these individuals or organizations agrees to spread the word to its constituents, your SpreadChange Event could gather a lot of momentum very quickly.

Once again, very little is involved to get involved at this level.

Mostly, you have to call and write to the individuals and organizations. And this web site gives you the resources you need — letter templates, call scripts, etc. — to make those contacts.

Now, you can make all these contacts on your own. Or ...

To make the process go easier and faster, consider forming a Gather 4 Spreading Change group. Gather a group of people from your community who share your enthusiasm for changing the world. And at the Gathering, divide the assignments among the members of the Group. This way, you won’t overburden any one individual too much.

At your Group Gathering, you can also put your heads together to discuss strategies for reaching your community leaders.

Use this guide to get the most out of your Gather 4 Spreading Change event.

SCHEDULE: Find a Gather 4 Spreading Change Group already scheduled near you. If you can’t find one, create a Gather 4 Spreading Change Group. The ispreadchange.com site has been designed to let you network with others in your Gather 4 Spreading Change Group, send them schedules and reminders, make announcements, exchange notes and ideas.

INVITE: Invite the people you know to join the Group — especially those good on the phone. Invite your friends, family, colleagues and neighbors. Encourage them to keep track of your Group activites and progress on ispreadchange.com.

POST: Invite those you don’t know by posting flyers wherever there is high traffic ... your local coffee shop, grocery store, company cafetaria, church fellowship hall, or library. Tap into our resources for a flyer that you can personalize.

MATERIALS: For your Gather 4 Spreading Change Group Gatherings, the most important thing you’ll need is an Assignment Sheet. You will also need Agenda sheets and Sign In sheets. All of these can be accessed through the resources page.

PICTURES: Don't forget a camera to take pictures or videos of your Group to share them with others on the site.

Congratulations on your role in spreading change throughout your community — and throughout the world.
